Hand chased jewelry
Is all about working directly in the metal.  All shaping and texturing on the work is done by hand.
First the design is laid out with small chisels directly on the gold with a chasing hammer.  Then the pattern is saw pierced while removing extra metal that will not be formed in the final shapes.  Using tiny textured punches the gold is 'pushed around'  forming the surface and giving the final shape and finish.

This type of work requires both large amounts of time and the manufacture or modification of all the tools used. All are one of a kind

14kt gold flames pierced and chased. Background lowered and deeply textured.  Flames are completely cut though to the inside of the ring
